A rare spectacle was witnessed on Friday 22 September when President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga, shared a warm handshake in Kiambu County.
The two political rivals met for the first time at the burial of former Nairobi Mayor Samuel Mbugua, father of former Nairobi Woman Representative Rachael Shebesh, since the nullification of President Uhuru’s re-election by the Supreme Court.
Among the leaders that attended the send-off included Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja, Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo, former Nyandarua Governor Waithaka Mwangi and former Nyandarua woman representative Wanjiku Muhia among others.
