Supreme Court to give full judgement on 20th September

The Supreme Court of Kenya, led by Chief justice David Maraga will give its detailed judgement on September 20^th 2017 from 10 a.m., according to the Court Registrar.

The court made history in Africa, becoming the first court to declare presidential election results invalid, null and void, then ordered for a fresh presidential poll slated for October 17^th 2017.

CJ Maraga has come under strong criticism from the ruling party (Jubilee), with one Member of Parliament deciding to file a petition at the Judicial Service Commission against him.

Jubilee Party heads, however, distanced themselves from Hon Ngunjiri Wambugu’s actions, asking him to withdraw the petition.

The National Super Alliance, led by ODM leader Raila Odinga has insisted that they will not walk into the repeat election if their ‘irreducible minimum’ conditions are not met.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is facing problems regarding the election date, as the Kenya Integrated Election Management System requires more time to be ready to host voters.
