Militants suspected to be Al Shabaab have beheaded four people in Hindi, Lamu.
The attacks took place in two villages, Bobo and Silini-Mashambani.
According to reports, one attack took place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday 5th September while the other occurred on Wednesday 6th September 2017 at 1:30 a.m.
Armed with AK47 rifles, the attackers are said to have went around ordering occupants to come out, moments before they beheaded three people.
It is still unknown if the assailants were Al Shabaab and investigations are still going on, said Lamu County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo.

According to the commissioner, it was strange that the attackers called their victims by name before killing them.
After the beheading of these four men, tension levels have risen in Hindi Town, Lamu as residents went to the streets protesting the killings and the insecurity in the area.
Protesters were however dispersed by anti-riot police.
