One more win will do it for Chelsea

The Blues under the managerial of Italy’s best, Antonio Conte, yesterday night moved a step closer to clinching the English Premier League trophy for the second time in three years.

Chelsea capitalized on Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 loss to West Ham United over the weekend. Spurs failed to pile pressure on the run-away leaders to a single point.

According to football pundits, if Mauricio Pochettino would have won on Friday at Olympic Stadium then it would have affected Chelsea’s performance greatly during their match on Monday.

Goals from Diego Costa and Marcos Alonso in the first half coupled by Nemanja Matic goal in the second period- Serb’s first Premier League goal for the club this season, did not only condemn Middlesbrough to Championship next season but also saw Chelsea move seven points clear at the summit of the table with 84 points.

On Sunday, two quick goals from Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck saw off Manchester United putting Gunners fifth with 63 points but can dislodge United if they win over Southampton tomorrow night.

Pep Guardiola made a statement he is in top four to stay after his side hammered Crystal Palace five unanswered goals at Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
