A couple in
Lunga Lunga, Kwale County were arrested by the police after they allegedly
turned their negibour’s daughter into a commercial sex worker.
According to K24 digital, the 13-year-old girl went missing
in late December and efforts by the parents to trace her went futile.
Almost four months later, the girl’s father says that he was
alerted by one of the daughter’s teacher about the whereabouts of the minor.
The teacher told the girl’s father that her daughter had
been spotted in their neighbours compound severally.
“Yesterday, I bumped into my child’s teacher, who informed
me he had spotted her several times at my neighbour’s compound. At 4pm, I went
to the said-couple’s house and found my girl,” said the father.
After finding her daughter, the class four pupil revealed to
her dad that the couple, Mwalewa Kombe and his wife, rented a room for her
where men would sleep with her in exchange for money.
The girl also revealed that the couple would take all the
money after the men left.
Mwalewa Kombe and his wife were arrested and taken to Lunga
Lunga police station for questioning after the girl’s father reported the
matter.
Josphat Biwott, the Lunga Lunga Deputy County Commissioner, said that investigations have already been launched adding that they were looking for a prominent business man who paid to sleep with the girl.
