'I am not moving' - Boniface Mwangi once again blocks government entourage on the wrong side

Activist Boniface Mwangi has once again blocked a Government convoy driving on the wrong side of the road.

In a video posted by the activist, a man in a suit is seen coming out of the car and asking Boniface to give way.

However, the defiant activist refused to give way and repeatedly told the man that he will not give way.

“You are on the wrong side; I am not moving, I am not moving… no, you don’t stay to the wrong side, “Boniface told the man in the suit.

The activist said that the government officials in convoy were breaking the law and endangering the lives of Kenyans by driving on the wrong side of the road.

‘One person, an employee of the taxpayers in a convoy of 4 cars decided to use the wrong side of the road. It’s arrogance, endangering lives, and breaking the law. I block anyone on the wrong side; the law is clear on the use of sirens; it doesn’t say “clearing traffic” EMERGENCY ONLY!” said Mwangi.

A section of Kenyans on Twitter commended the activist for doing what most people wouldn’t dare.

David Makali says, Salute to Bonface. This is a bold statement. But also remember it is an offence to defy lawful instructions from a police officer. It is in the traffic code.

His sentiments were echoed by Makobu Kimani who said “Well done Boniface Mwangi. One day sanity and the rule of law shall reign in this country.”

In June 2019, the activist also uploaded a video of him blocking another government entourage driving on the wrong side.

When one of the bodyguards alighted and asked him to give way, Boniface refused saying that they were driving on the wrong side.

In his caption, Boniface said that he only gives way to ambulances and fire engines.

“I only give way to ambulances and fire engines. I block entitled civil servants and politicians who love to use sirens to avoid traffic.”

“As a taxpayer, l expect the people in these big cars to follow the law and work towards solving the perennial traffic jams.” Said Boniface.

Do you agree with Boniface Mwangi that only Emergency cars should break the law?
