Senator Cheruiyot hints DP Ruto broke after house riddle, offers to bail him

Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot on Sunday, January 12, 2020, insinuated that Deputy President William Ruto could be broke.

This came as a response to a local newspaper’s headline that read ‘Ruto locked out of official residence.’

On his Twitter account, the senator said that DP’s tribulations could be likened to a situation of any other Kenyan where landlord locks the door when January economic pinch is felt.

The senator further offered a helping hand to the Deputy President in case the need arises.

“Like every Kawaida Hustler, the DP came back from Christmas to find the landlord had padlocked the gate...Usual January blues, am sure they shall pass.”

“Stay the course William Ruto, there’s a cheque am awaiting, ikipita nitakukumbuka...” posted the Senator.

The article by the Newspaper narrates that the DP Ruto arrived in Mombasa on the morning of Wednesday, January 8, 2020 and proceeded with his business of the day.

He was scheduled to spend the night in the recently refurbished former Coast Provincial Commissioner’s official residence.

A house which was refurbished to serve as the official residence of the DP in his visits to the coast in an attempt to cut costs.

According to the article, the DP returned at 4pm in the evening only to find his staff packing his belongings citing a communication from senior ‘government official.’

The Director of Communications at the Office Deputy President, Emmanuel Talam, however, said that he was not aware of the incident at the coast and insisted that the DP always spent his nights in Mombasa at the English Point Marina.
