Three ladies free after mother withdraws case against them for beating her up

Ms Mary Mwingirwa on Friday, October 18, 2019, withdrew a case against her daughters who roughed her up after they arrived home late in Nchurai village, Tigania West, Meru county.

The court heard that the three ladies Lillian Kirito, Pauline Kananu and Jemima Mwingirwa beat up their mother and threatened to eject her from her house.

It was further reported that the girls had arrived late (around 10 pm) and found their mother asleep following a day-long trip.


After knocking the gate for a while, a sibling opened for them but they complained about the delay.

This caused them to demand answers from their mother.

They directed insults at her and pushed her causing actual body harm to her.

As if this was not enough, the girls proceeded to their father’s grave sat on it and summoned his spirit saying they needed their mother to leave.

The woman, however, told the court that they had reached an agreement out of court.

The incident took place on August 9, 2019.

The withdrawal prompted Tigania Principal Magistrate Gathogo Sogomo to release the three suspects.
