Kajiado man ruthlessly beaten in viral video says he won’t take legal action

A man captured in a viral video being mercilessly caned has reportedly claimed he won’t press charges against his assailants.

The 26-year-old Benson Merian Pasile presented himself before the Directorate of Criminal investigation on Monday.

A source privy to the victim's remarks told a local news website that the man was not willing to take legal action.

The victim also reportedly said the assailants who cane him were his father and uncles. He said they did so because of his bad behaviour.

In the viral video, Pasile was lying facing the ground, his hands tied with a rope from behind.

A group of four men with a long stick, as captured, were seen descending on him mercilessly. The victim’s painful cries could save him from the determined attackers.

The incident went viral prompting the DCI officer to swing into action. Two people have reportedly been arrested over the matter.
