Ruto’s message to Origi, Wanyama

Deputy President William Ruto on Thursday reserved special praise for Liverpool forward Divock Origi and Tottenham Hotspurs Midfielder Victor Wanyama for their efforts in reaching the UEFA Champions League Final.

Through a tweet, the DP acknowledged that Spurs and Liverpool had near-improbable tasks of reaching the finals but they defied all odds and made history courtesy of breathtaking comebacks.

He lauded the grit of Wanyama and Origi and wished them well as they prepare to lock horns in Madrid on June 1, 2019.

Ruto also singled out Origi for his two goals that enabled Liverpool to hammer Barcelona 4-0 in one of the greatest comebacks of all time.

“Congratulations to @VictorWanyama and Divock Origi for playing starring roles for @SpursOfficial and @LFC respectively in a successful @ChampionsLeague campaign. #UCLfinal

“With the teams facing improbable tasks of reaching the #UCLfinal, the lads, especially Origi, displayed fierce competitiveness, devastating finishing to complete an epic turnaround and crown victory.

“All the best in the Madrid showpiece. @SpursOfficial @LFC @ChampionsLeague,” he wrote.

Elsewhere, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino also found himself in a dilemma as he struggled to choose the colour he will wear during the final.

He used the outcomes of the semi-finals to encourage his followers never to give up no matter how impossible a task looks on face value.

“Who will I support between Victor wanyama and Divock Origi? Before you think of giving up in life think of Liverpool vs Barcelona and Ajax vs Tottenham.

“You CAN make it.#ChampionsLeagueFinal,” said Babu.
