Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has offered his deepest sympathy to the victims of the terror attack at 14 Riverside Drive in Nairobi.

The attack came as a shock given the calm the country had witnessed over the last few years because of concerted efforts by the government.

"The act was an attempt to instill fear in our citizenry which our gallant security forces responded with bravery, diligence and clinical execution," he said in a statement.

Gideon paid a special tribute to security forces for the timely and well-coordinated response to the attack.

"That valiant effort by both the forces and emergency service providers in the face of terror was the highest height of patriotism we can ever have."

He added that supporting security agencies and emergency service responders were acts of bravery, selflessness and kindness by ordinary Kenyans who remained unbowed in rallying support and sharing messages of hope and inspiration.

Gideon said Kenyans should continue praying with the families of the affected while remaining vigilant.

"For those receiving treatment in various hospitals, I wish you quick recovery."
