By Standard reporter | October 8th 2018

Some officials of a county government in the Rift Valley have found an easy avenue to fleece the county through bogus charity events.

The officials including a senior advisor to a governor have been drawing huge sums of money to buy food and non- food stuff to donate to disaster and tribal clashes victims and children's home.

The latest incident that shocked the county is where they spent Sh300,000 for a birthday party of local celebrity at a children's Home.

The county government later funded a party at a night club. The Grapevine has it that the advisor to the governor is behind the scheme to reap from the county after their earlier activities were detected and loophole sealed by the governor who has declared zero tolerance to corruption.

Grapevine further heard that the officials have been pushing for their activities to be publicized by bloggers and county communication officials.
