A county chief of staff who attempted to steal Sh42 million from public coffers has his days numbered as his boss is said to be shopping for a replacement.
The straw that broke the camel’s back came when it was discovered that he was pushing for payment of Sh42 million that has already been paid out to suppliers.
Sources say the governor, who is known for his zero-tolerance for corruption has made it clear that he will not defend anyone found stealing money meant for public use.
Ever since his thieving ways were discovered, the chief of staff has been reduced to a spectator at the county government offices.
He has since been stripped off all responsibilities and let to act as the governor’s errand boy. Sources say he was more focused on enriching himself than supporting his boss’ development agenda.
