Baby killed inside Sharon Otieno’s womb to be buried today

Family of the late Rongo University Student Sharon Otieno is set to bury the baby she was carrying before she was brutally murdered and body found dumped in Kodero forest on September 4.

Sharon’s family, while addressing the press on Wednesday 12 September, said that the deceased Seven-month-baby would be buried today in Homa Bay County.

The student’s mother, Melida Auma pleaded with President Uhuru to speed up investigations of Sharon’s murder so that the family could lay her to rest.

“It is my humble request to President Uhuru to look into this issue so that the truth is known. It has been hard for us. Very hard indeed. We have gone through a lot since Sharon disappeared. We want this matter put to rest. We want peace but this will be possible only after her killers are exposed and charged,” Sharon’s mother pleaded.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado, who has been accused of being involved in Sharon’s murder, addressed the nation on Wednesday 12 September to clear the air.

“I have nothing, and absolutely nothing to do with the cruel death of Sharon,” he said.

“I want to say that I'm ready and willing whenever I will be called upon to give further statements so that the real killers of Sharon can be brought to book,” he added.

The Governor, who came with his wife, son and daughter, also asked the media not to interfere so that police can do their investigations.

“I want to call upon the media and politicians to avoid medieval proclamations so that our agencies charged with investigations are given time to do their job,” said Governor Obado.

Sharon’s family had earlier said that she would not be buried until her killers are brought to justice.
