David Beckham has begged former teammate Zinedine Zidane to mastermind a victory over Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Real will look to make it three successes on the spin in the competition when they take on Jurgen Klopp's side in Kiev.

Zidane could win his third Champions League as a manager, matching the record of Carlo Ancelotti and Bob Paisley.

Ahead of the showpiece encounter in Ukraine he sat down with former teammate and Manchester United legend Beckham.

"To have been successful as a player and now to be successful as the boss, the big boss, is incredible," he said to Zidane.

"I just want to wish Zizou, the boss, the president, the club good luck in the Champions League final.

"And please beat Liverpool, please!"

Zidane, who was thought to be under pressure this season, added: "We suffered and worked a lot to make it to the final.

"There has been a lot of sacrifices, a lot of work, alot of personal investment from everyone.

"Once I decided to become a coach I thought nothing is impossible. Being a coach of Real Madrid I knew we could achieve great things."
