Sharp reactions online as ODM seeks to remove Wetang’ula from Senate Leader of Minority position

Following various reports of plans to oust Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula from Senate Leader of Minority position, the National Super Alliance (NASA) is now facing a major fallout.

According to an article published on Page 6 of The Standard on March 16, the Orange Democratic Movement, one of NASA’a affiliate parties, wants James Orengo to take over as Leader of the Minority.

However, Wetang’ula will not go down so easily and has warned ODM of dire consequences should he be ousted.

As the Military Commander of the Western Command, I have been tasked to disarm Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula and take over leadership. That is how it shall be, henceforth.

Senate Minority Leader position, now held by Ford Kenya Senator Moses Wetangula, who has no other senator on that ticket, must as a matter of rightful urgency be returned to the rightful owner, the leader of ODM Delegation in the Senate, the Hon. James Orengo, EGH, SC. 1/2

Moses Wetangula my brother take heart. You betrayed us on 30th January. Wait for your cookie. Baba will roast all of you one by one. Time will tell.— Jimmy Wanjigi (@WanjigiJimmy) March 15, 2018

I sympathize with my brother Sen.Moses Wetangula. I am ready to accommodate him in the Majority side.

I support dewhipping of Moses Wetangula as the senate minority leader.— NORMAN AMUGIRA MAGAYA (@NormanMagaya) March 15, 2018

Next move that is tenable for Moses Wetangula is to ditch NASA and opposition politics altogether and join jubilee. Where his heart was always. Wetangula doesn't have a gusto of an opposition figure nor the zeal it requires.

ODM should tell Kenyans and especially we Luhyas, whether removing Moses Wetangula as Senate minority leader was part of the pact signed at the steps of Harambee House between @RailaOdinga and @UKenyatta— Carrington Mwendwa (@CarringtonMwen1) March 15, 2018

Hon. Moses Wetangula can still serve the NASA opposition without sitting on a seat that he knows does not belong to him. The ODM Agenda now is to ensure #UhuruRailaTalks and its broad agenda works. We can’t sabotage it. @IkeOjuok @Asamoh_ @olickfelix— D I K E M B E (@Disembe) March 15, 2018
