Moses Kuria insults Raila after wishing him happy birthday

Gatundu South Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Kuria was among the many Kenyans who wished National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition leader Raila Odinga Happy Birthday as he turned 73 on Sunday 7 January.

The outspoken MP while wishing Raila a happy birthday, said that he respects him despite their political differences. He however told the NASA leader that if he continues with the swearing-in nonsense, he’ll ‘end up in the gallows’ like most of the people he had mentored.

“Let me take this opportunity to wish a very happy birthday to my friend Jakom. Despite our differences, I hold you in utmost respect. As you celebrate your 74th Birthday, I invite you to reflect on how you want to write your history in this nation. You can choose to be a statesman, a patriot and let this country move forward. You can release the shackles from the feet of this country and let it exhale or you can go ahead with that swearing in ujinga and end up in the gallows like the guys you mentored, Hezekiah Ochuka and Pancras Oteyo. Chaguo ni lako. Happy Birthday Baba!” Moses Kuria posted on his Facebook page.

Raila’s birthday came at the height of political uncertainty as many of his supporters wait for him to swear himself in as the people’s president. The NASA leader has mentioned a date for the twice-postponed event in January 30.

Raila received a surprise birthday cake early on Sunday from Western NASA leaders prior to the Kakamega People's Assembly meeting.

The cake's decoration included a fist, the symbol of National Resistance Movement (NRM), a movement Raila started in an attempt to refuse the outcome of October 26 presidential repeat elections.
