Cristiano Ronaldo is so expensive – Lawyers brought in to engineer Real Madrid exit

Five-time FIFA Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation at Spanish side Real Madrid seems to be deteriorating, following reports that lawyers have been brought in to hasten his exit from Los Blancos.

According to The Express, the former Manchester United star felt like he needed to leave the club after allegations of tax fraud early this year.

Ronaldo just won his fifth Ballon d’Or, making him one of the most expensive footballers of all time, possibly costly that Brazilian Neymar who completed a record-breaking 222 million euro move from Catalan giants Barcelona to French side Paris St. Germain.

Spanish TV Station El Chiringuito says Ronaldo has contacted his lawyers to help him negotiate a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, asking them to negotiate with the club so that his release clause can be lowered.

Ronaldo’s release clause at the moment 879 million euros, but one can only assume it has increased after he won the prestigious award.

If Ronaldo is to leave Real Madrid anytime soon, that clause has to be lowered since not many clubs are willing to spend that type of money of a 32-year-old.

His contract with Real Madrid ends in the year 2021, which means that he will have to stay in Spain until he is 36 if his lawyers don’t act quickly.

Manager Zinedine Zidane, who has also won the Ballon d’Or has expressed faith over the Ronaldo situation, backing the Portuguese star every time rumours about an uncertain future arise.
