Twitter battles- Murkomen steps in to rescue Senator Susan Kihika from Woman Rep Florence Mutua

Kenyans on Twitter were treated to a rare battle when Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika tweeted her opinion over the ongoing National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) boycott.

In her tweet, Susan claimed that unless NRM leaders and supporters boycotted their salaries and jobs, they were just blowing hot air.

This came shortly after NRM announced the companies which their supporters would boycott. The companies are Safaricom, Bidco Oil Refineries and Brookside Dairies.

Here is the Senator’s tweet;

Someone tag me when NRM MPs & Govs boycott salaries & the supporters emp’d by these companies resign. Otherwise they R just blowing hot air.

Her post caught the attention of many Kenyans including that of Busia Women Rep Florence Mutua. Most of the responses she evoked questioned her priorities, with many Tweeps asking her to do her work without mentioning NRM.

unfortunate she has never shown up at the lakeside in solidarity with the bereaved families. Their work ended the day she was elected— Edwards Keith (@ASStronomer92) November 4, 2017

Can't you guys write your posts without referring to NRM???, its like without them , you have no agenda to show Kenyans!

Florence Mutua did not mince her thoughts either, reminding the Senator that the bodies of her communication team were still missing, after crashing in to Lake Nakuru on October 21, 2017.

The rescue team from the air crash have only managed to retrieve two of the five bodies of the ill-fated plane passengers.

Here is Florence’s tweet;

Your priority? pls assist the families retrieve their dead from the lake. Mambo ya NASA leave to us. https://t.co/tpJBQMQIYL— Hon. Florence Mutua (@florence_mutua) November 5, 2017

Her tweet also garnered responses before catching Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen’s attention.

Thank u Hon.Florence.Instead of concentrating on how to get his staff fr Lake Nakuru ni kupiga mdomo juu ya mambo ya Nasa.— Anne Gati (@anne_gati) November 5, 2017

Susan was the speaker of Nakuru county. She was elected by 640,000 voters. 13mins? She’s more accomplished than you’ll ever dream of being.

Murkomen criticized Florence asking her not to compare loss of lives with politics. The two then exchanged tweets with Florence finally calling it off.

Florence you are callous.We can compete in politics but surely we can't joke about death.Will remind u about this someday in the near future https://t.co/xB54YDmExN— KIPCHUMBA MURKOMEN (@kipmurkomen) November 5, 2017

Their tweets caused a stir as Kenyans shared the tweets for and against them.

I ignore when fanatic followers celebrate death of perceived opponents. But when it comes from leaders like Mutua its sad very sad!— Githinji Wa Njoroge (@kennethgnjoroge) November 5, 2017
