Former Gor Mahia striker Michael Olunga shortlisted for CAF African Player of the year award

  • He becomes the second Kenyan to be nominated for the African Player of the Year Award after Victor Wanyama of Tottenham

Former Gor Mahia striker Michael Olunga has been shortlisted in the 30-player list for the CAF African Player of the Year Award.

Olunga who currently plays for Spanish side Girona FC was nominated alongside other decorated African football stars like Mohammed Salah of Liverpool FC and Eric Baily of Manchester United.

The Girona forward becomes the second Kenyan to be nominated for the African Player of the Year Award after Victor Wanyama of Tottenham.

The awards gala will be held on January 4th 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
