Kenyans respond to DP Ruto after his remarks against Raila Odinga ahead of repeat poll

Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday 21 October, said that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga will sponsor violence using his supporters and family to ensure there is no Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and no voting in Nyanza.

“So,the democrat, Mr Odinga will sponsor violence using his supporters & family to ensure there is no IEBC & no voting in Nyanza? Surely!!!” DP Ruto posted on his twitter handle.

With less than a week to the repeat presidential election slated for October 26, a lot of things have already happened in Kenya. Dr Roselyn Akombe, former IEBC Commissioner resigned stating that the IEBC as constituted cannot conduct a credible election.

“The commission in the current state can surely not guarantee a credible election on October 26. I do not want to be party to such a mockery to electoral integrity,” said Dr Akombe.

IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba also shocked many after saying that he has taken a three-week leave with only four days to the repeat poll.

All that is needed is polling stations to be open. If there are no votes, zero also counts. In Kenya it's your right not to vote.
