Kenyans reactions after IEBC declined Raila’s demands

Showdown loomed between the National Super Alliance (NASA) and the electoral commission after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rejected the opposition’s demands ahead of October 26 repeat presidential elections.

NASA had demanded the removal of some IEBC secretariat members including IEBC Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba and the exclusion of Safaricom from the fresh presidential elections.

Here what some Kenyans had to say;

Kenyans just want peace in order to continue with their lives. Politics is of no value to them because at the end of the day, Uhuru and Raila are great family friends. Uhuru Tano Tena

The electoral agency used the same excuse of time when the issue of Al-Ghurair (printing firm) first came up before the August 8 elections. Let me assure those sabotaging this process that Jubilee Party is in for a rude shock. Any institution that was involved in the bungled elections should not be involved. Imagine Sh30 billion of taxpayers’ money going to waste. Sirkal Jakondiegi

It was not even in the business of political parties to choose printers. The IEBC was acting in good faith to consult them but they are both hell-bent on frustrating each other hence the process. Who prints is at the sole discretion of IEBC, which acted within its mandate. This is not an opinion but a fact in law. Muthoni Muthui

And the ordinary Kenyan keeps suffering from uncertainty and stress while these politicians strut around making bombastic demands and statements. This is no longer about the Kenyan people but a power play between the political elites, all of who are tainted with the stench of corruption, tribalism and pure greed. Martin Njue
