It's payback time as MPs asked to fund presidential campaign

Some MPS are belatedly discovering that there is always some payback time.

The law makers, Grapevine has been told are reeling in shock after they received an invoice from their party to contribute to their leader's presidential campaigns.

The most affected are newly elected MPs, who despite having received no pay, are supposed to part with Sh200,000.

Yesterday, an MP was seen desperately looking for colleagues to guarantee him a loan so that he could raise Sh500,000 his party is demanding.

The MP had a difficult time trying to get members of the Bunge Sacco as most of the lawmakers he met were first timers looking for their initial pay and had not yet joined saved anything.

The repeat presidential election is slated for October 17th 2017.

NASA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga and Jubilee Party's Uhuru Kenyatta are the main competitors but have raised issues with the IEBC on election preparedness.
