Heated exchanges you totally missed in battle for Nairobi governor’s post

Miguna to Kidero, Sonko and Peter Kenneth. "Leadership is about the right vision and about integrity. Miguna has both vision and integrity. Miguna is the only candidate among the three, am the forth one with a manifesto. These leaders have come here empty handed. They want to make promises that have not been concretised in writing. Reject the cartels.

Miguna to Kidero, Sonko and Peter Kenneth. The three gentlemen have no managerial skills either. All they know is how to steal.

Miguna to Sonko, PK and Kidero: These three gentlemen if you ask them what is your ideology, what is your socio-economic philosophy. They have no philosophy, they have no ideology, they have no manifesto, they are thieves, they cannot run anything.

Miguna to Sonko PK and Kidero. The three gentlemen don't have manifestos. Some are talking greens some are having goons. Some are talking about none concrete things. This is the problem."....To Sonko, PK and Kidero.

Miguna to Sonko. Sonko does not even know that the exchequer only gets money from tax payers. He thinks that there is a government for exchequer that comes from the air. There is no such thing

Miguna to Kidero. My friend Kidero, his foundation has been de-registered because of money laundering. I will use the money from laundering to train the 'Kanjos' that need training.

Sonko to Kidero. The monies, the constitution is very clear that 30 per cent of that money should go to development. My brother (Kidero) has not done that. I will ensure that I follow the law in serving the great people of Nairobi.

Peter Kenneth to Sonko. My brother has spoken about playing a political agenda and his deputy playing managerial agenda which means both of them individually do not have the mix. They have to look into each other. That one is not capable over being the governor and the other is capable of being a deputy governor because he needs a political muscle at the top. So we really do not know. The constitution is very clear that the chief executive is the governor. You need a governor who can mix both.

Peter Kenneth to Miguna. Sometimes being a motormouth is not a solution to our problems. I want to take on Miguna head on. Let him produce the details of the house if that house was indeed bought from Kenya Re because I have never bought a house from Kenya Re. And you know this is rumour mongering will not help him. He needs to go out and campaign instead of rumour mongering.

Peter Kenneth to Miguna: He was in Canada at that time. The gentleman on my right could not have been fighting for my freedom in Canada in Toronto for two obvious reasons. If I wanted to talk about it and we also know and heard cases of molesting ladies in Toronto and we are aware of it. He can table the documents when he wants.

Miguna to Peter Kenneth: Fighting for your freedom. There is a court order by the High Court issued agaist Peter Kenneth in his attempt to sell Kenya Re to the Monarch Insurance Corporation of Zimbabwe for Sh 800 million when Kenya Re was worth more than Sh 2 billion. That's a fact.

Miguna to Peter Kenneth. Peter Kenneth is the one called the jiggered mind because he stopped Ahadi Kenya from fighting jiggers in Gatanga. This man only got to where he was because he was somebody's squeeze in Kanu. But the man had failed fundamentally in his school. He had not finished school, he got Es, there was no reason why he was the head of Kenya Re. This man is a total failure. He is selling beauty. Peter Kenneth has only been selling beauty in Kenya. We want leadership not beauty.

Miguna to Sonko, PK and Sonko. Cartels are central to the problems facing Nairobi and the three colleagues of mine actually are part of the cartels. The cartels are those who get money through shoddy deals. My friend Evans Kidero has made his billions through shoddy deals he has become a billionaire having been an employee throughout his life because he has virtually looted every institution he has worked with."....To Kidero.

Miguna to Sonko: My friend Sonko is looting every land in Nairobi. He has a criminal record from Mombasa where he was jailed because of fraud, forgery and drug dealing. Then he ran away from jail so he is a cartel because he has a criminal record.

Miguna to Peter Kenneth: My friend Peter Kenneth bankrupted Kenya Re. He basically looted the institution to death and when he was in Gatanga, he never sponsored a motion in Parliament, never sponsored a bill, never chaired a committee of parliament then here he is saying he wants to be a manager. What we need is a leader not a manager.

Peter Kenneth to Miguna: I like the energy he is using to describe the cartels. He really does not understand what cartels are and when you try to a solution on how he will handle the cartels, obviously he is not able.

Sonko to Miguna: Something is wrong with your head. Something is wrong with your upstairs my friend.

Kidero to Peter Kenneth: "My friend Peter Kenneth, if he was passionate about Nairobi who would have run for Member of Parliament in Muranga. But also he was passionate about Nairobi he wouldn't have been saying that I could go to Nakuru or I could go to Muranga or I could come to Nairobi as God's gift to management.

Kidero to Miguna: I don't think being an activist or talking a dozen to the minute makes you a good manager.

Peter Kenneth to Kidero: "If my friend is as competent, he is as passionate he wouldn't have left Nation Media to go and work in Mumias. So he needs to look at the speck in his eye and decide where his passion is and you know he is the governor of Nairobi for the last four years. He has told he learnt the potholes. He takes time to learn.

Kidero to Sonko: Sonko talks about Sonko Rescue Team I think one of the problems we gonna have in this country is the re-emergence of criminal gangs.
