MP barred from attending Uhuru rally vows to fight back

Tetu MP Ndung'u Gethenji has vowed to take legal action against whoever is found responsible for disallowing him from attending Jubilee's rally in Nyeri.

Hon. Gethenji who became an independent candidate after losing out in Jubilee party primaries allegedly received a phone call in the morning hours with instructions that he was not allowed to attend the rally led by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday.

Despite the itinerary passing through his own constituency where the president addressed the people, the embattled MP was barred from attending amid claims that he was planning to heckle Deputy President William Ruto.

Further reports suggested that the directive was given by Nyeri County Commissioner Julius Karuku whom Hon. Gethenji has vowed to advocate for his interdiction if he is found responsible with the MP claiming that the former threatened his life.

"I had every right to be present during the president's visit not only as the reigning MP but also as a Kenyan citizen and Tetu resident".

"This was uncalled for and whoever is found responsible for it must be interdicted", added Hon. Gethenji in a stern voice while saying that he will never be intimidated by anyone.
