Journalist preacher steals millions from boss.

A pastor who once trained as a mass communication and information technology expert has been accused of stealing huge amounts of money from his boss whom he served as a security guard.

Alfred Andrew, 40 has been stripped off his overnight millionaire tag after he silently sneaked into his boss’ money store and walked away with foreign currency estimated at 25 million Naira.

Mr Benedict Emmanuel, a businessman who lives at the Gwarimpa housing estate in Abuja employed Andrew who later developed a strange character and different lifestyle when he had stolen handsomely.

Andrew had found a key in the house and tried it on his boss’ padlock and when it worked he reigned in on the foreign currencies.

“That day, I was sweeping when I saw a key on the floor. I tried it on the padlock on my boss’ apartment and it opened. I went inside the house and was searching through his belongings when something fell on me from the top of his wardrobe,” Andrew narrated how it all started.

He was on a stealing spree. As long as his boss could bring home more money, for close to one month, his life kept changing as he was earned lesser amounts, N25, 000 - capable of giving him all he needed.

His boss after a few days realised something strange in him and found that he was using an expensive phone and had designer clothes in his house.

“Last Friday when my boss discovered the cash missing, he ordered that nobody should go out of the compound and started searching everybody. His sister who is an official with the Department of State Services came also and checked my phone and bags,” narrates Andrew.

On realising all was not well, Andrew opted to confess of having stolen the money and confirmed there was N24.4 million in his account.

He has moved to accuse his boss of failing to give him a quarterly pay rise as had been promised saying his low pay prompted him steal.

Andrew enrolled for theology school after being jobless for several years, despite his undergraduate training in mass communication and later becoming a preacher.
