Mother linked to stabbing of daughter's ex-boyfirend

A 26-year-old man was stabbed in the neck, abdomen and his right hand when he was allegedly sent by his ex-girlfriend’s mother to pick her belongings that had been taken to her daughter’s new lover’s house in Bulawayo.

His girlfriend had moved to an older man, Ntabiso Mpofu 33, who the Western commonage magistrate heard that he concluded the man had come for a fight over the girl identified as Belinda.

The prosecutor, Mr Mufaro Mageza told the court that the man had moved to get what her ex-lover had taken to the new boyfriend’s house on request by her mother.

“He knocked the door and it was opened. THE complainant realized Belinda on the accused’s bed. The accused thought the complainant had come to start a fight over his ex-girlfriend” Mr Mageza said.

“He armed himself with a kitchen knife that he used to stab the complainant once on the neck and once in the abdomen. When he tried to stand, he stabbed his right hand,” he added.

It has remained unclear on what items had been moved by Brenda to her new boyfriend and if it is true that the man had been sent to collect them given she was an ex-girlfriend.
