Jubilant Conte hauled away from news conference by Chelsea players

A post-match address to journalists by Chelsea head coach, Antonio Conte was cut short last night when his players stormed the conference room and literally dragged their beloved manager back to the pitch to continue with the celebrations.

A late goal from substitute Michy Batshuayi in the 82nd minute against West Bromwich Albion yesterday night, ensured Conte’s prestigious silverware at his maiden campaign at the London-based club.

He becomes the fourth manager to lift the trophy in his first season after Jose Mourinho 04/05, Carlo Ancelotti 09/10-both with Chelsea and Manuel Pellegrini with Manchester City in 2013/14 season.

The Blues have been excellent this season- they have amassed a total of 87 points with two games to go; 28 wins so far. If they win their two remaining games they set a new record for Premier League victories in season at 30 wins. They have been on the top of the log since early December 2016.

Chelsea who are 10 points clear in front of second-placed Spurs, are aiming for a double when they play Arsenal on May 27 at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs face Manchester United on Sunday at White Hart Lane, as Red Devils seek to penetrate for a top-four finish.

John Terry’s captained side, will lift its fifth Premier League title as the 36-year-old skipper is set to retire after his 22-year stint at the club.
