Chelsea wins, Spurs responds…who will blink first?

The English Premier League has literally reached a point of matter of dead, point where one makes a mistake and you will get punished severely.

All teams irrespective of their position are at gunpoint-gasping for their dear lives. It has reached that very moment in the season to separate between serious contenders from pretenders.

Top four finish is arguably open, with only the top two positions decided.

Even though Sunderland bid England’s top-tier league bye after ten years. Hard times await Middlesbrough, Swansea, Hull and Palace to some extent as basement battle intensifies.

On Sunday, league leaders made a trip to Goodison Park to play Everton in a what many referred to as a ‘decider’. Antonio Conte’s boys moved closer to clinching the win after three unanswered goals from Pedro, Garry Cahill and Willian saw the Blues add all points to their bag to make it 81 this season.

The fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal followed and the Lily whites responded with an emphatic 2-0 win over their London rivals, closing the gap to four points. Harry Kane and Dele Alli goals in the second period gave manager Mauricio Pochettino confidence as he faced a pack of journalists in the post-match interview.

Wanyama’s side is also entangled with another derby as they face West Ham away on Friday.

Arsenal, albeit with a game in hand, are 17 points below Spurs, are set to finish below them for the first time in two decades.

The Gunners are in an incredible sorry state as Arsene Wenger will guide his side as they take on Red Devils next weekend.

In another match, Gylfi Sigurdsson’s late strike cancelled Wayne Rooney’s goal denying Manchester United vital three points to move comfortably at the fourth. The point means United are fifth with 65 points.

Middlesbrough, showed resilience as Manchester City forced a 2-2 draw at Riverside. Boro fielded everything they got as their battle against the drop seems almost a lost course, but they never give. Do they? Lots of drama to be expected next week on Monday as they make a trip to Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool, who take on Watford tonight at Vicarage Road are at joint with the Citizens at 66 points in the third and fourth position respectively.

Only time will tell as four games remain in the Premier League, top five is wide open, same case to the drop zone as tension down there heats up.

Here’s the summary of all the weekend action
