William Kabogo washes dirty linen in public after conceding defeat in Kiambu Gubernatorial race

After conceding defeat in the Kiambu gubernatorial race, Governor William Kabogo carried a look of disappointment on his face, evidence that he was not happy with the whole party nomination process that led to his defeat.

Incumbent Governor Kabogo however made it clear that for him, the Jubilee party nomination process was not free and fair and went on to wish the winner of the coming elections well, since he already saw that the results were going to swing Waititu’s way.

In his press briefing yesterday evening, William Kabogo decided to show the world the papers he presented to the Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju – Ballot papers signed and filled. Insisting that Kiambu County is where governors’ papers disappeared, the incumbent governor was not shy of washing dirty linen in public as he trailed Ferdinand Waititu by around ten thousand votes at the time.

He stated that he had managed to see the Deputy President regarding the party primaries issue and he was promised that presiding officers would be changed.

William Kabogo is one of several governors who have lost their party tickets and it is no surprise that he came out to criticise the whole nomination process as it is a characteristic of many counties holding party primaries.

Such has been witnessed in Migori and also in Busia where chaos erupted after suspicion of unfair play in the party primaries. Ferdinand Waititu will now contest for Governor of Kiambu County and somethings tells me that Kabogo is not yet done with ‘conceding’.

If conceding means washing dirty linen in public then every loser in the primaries should follow suit and let Kenyans know what is really going on. We should approach elections with clear minds, knowing who we are voting for, what they have done, what they intend to do and why.
