The man who did not notice my behind

The two have been talking a lot every day, those special man-woman conversations. But something was weird about him.

She has a big butt and it is clear for everyone to see. Even when she dresses decently, her behind will still be seen.

She talks with him for hours, they are Facebook friends too.

They also meet up quite often to grab a milkshake or sometimes to grab lunch.

"You are weird" she told him one time as they ate some ugali and fish at Cafe Nairobi.

"Why do you say that?" he asked her as he sipped his drink then dug into the food some more.

"You are the one man who doesn't go on and on about my butt. Don't you notice my butt?" she asked.

"I notice it" he answered.

"Then how come you don't keep staring at it or talking about it like other men? Or you don't like it? You have a problem with women with big butts? Cause if you ask me, we talk too much to be just friends, I honestly think you have feelings for me. Yes, I really do. But even on Facebook, other men go on and on about my curves but in your comments you only talk about me as a person. What gives?" she asked with a smiling look.

He giggled.

She gently pinched his finger saying, "Come on, stop giggling. I am a big butt lady in need of answers"

He laughed even further.

She laughed too.

"Look at this one? What is so funny?" she asked smiling.

"OK OK, I will be serious. Number one, you are beautiful" he said.

Her smile became wider.

"Thank you" she said.

"And when I say beautiful, I mean all together beautiful. Two, yes you have a big butt, I notice it, but no matter how big it is, it is a small part of the whole you. I am not attracted to you because of your butt, my pursuing you is not because of your big butt" he said.

"Aaah, so you are pursuing me?" she interrupted him.

"Yes, I am and it feels so natural because three, you are right, I have feelings for you, in fact, it is more than feelings, I am growing in love with you" he told her.

She paused and looked at him, their eyes locked for some seconds. It was the first time he had told her.

"I love you" he said.

She brushed her finger on his.

"I love you. I am in love with your spirit, in love with your heart, in love with your mind. For me, the thing that really amazes me about you is who you are inside; your outside beauty crowns it all. A crown only comes to seal the wonder that already exists. And that woman who exists inside you, that is the woman I am after. I want to know her, I want to love her, I want to study her and take care of her. I can't stop being in awe of your inner being. Please let me know that woman inside you deeper, let me love her" he told her.

She was fighting tears.

He moved closer to her.

"I know a majority if not all of the men that have come to you, have done so chasing after your body, they make you feel like a sex object and perhaps you have been feeling like no one cares about the treasure you are as a person, no one takes time to know you deep; they make you feel like just a pretty face with a big butt. I see you. I see your need to be known and I am hungry to know you. Show me you. Show me your fears, your dreams, your scars, your heart, your struggles, your vision, your thoughts. You are God's masterpiece, take me to the gallery inside you that no one has visited" he continued.

She teared up some more.

"Four, yes, I have something against women with big butts, if they are not you. You are the one that I love, the one I crave for. Give me the person you are inside, then at the right time in marriage, give me your body and your butt. Because when it is lust, men will only want your body then leave you as the inside you cries" he said.

She hugged him so tightly.

"I love you. I love you so much. No man has ever gone beyond my physical beauty like you do. You make me feel naked in the most fulfilling way, I am emotionally and intellectually naked before you even with my clothes on. With my spirit, my mind, my emotions, my heart and my body, I will love you. I trust you with myself" she said.

That day, the two became a couple. An unshakable couple.

Blessed are you, if you have someone who loves you deep.
