Mishra Kiprop warms his way to Kalenjin hearts in Kesses

Like a new and shiny Indian Rupee, a broad smile spreads across the lively animated face of Dr. Mishra Kiprop Arap Chelule, a gynecologist of Indian origin who has made Uasin Gishu County his home away from home.

Yet it baffles many that a man who comes from far has been embraced so warmly thousands of miles from his ancestral home! What is Mishra's secret?

In 1997, Dr. Mishra landed in Eldoret town and immediately fell in love with the weather. Yet it was the warmth of the people that endeared him to the land.

He immediately learned the language and culture of the people, a task he accomplished to perfection.

Dr.Mishra is a master of the Nandi tongue and, safe for his light complexion which betrays him, he would pass for any ordinary Nandi man in the streets.

Occasionally, he will be spotted taking 'Mursik', the famed energy drink of sour milk laced with black soot procured from special herbal plants.

His popular music is 'Emili Jepchumba' which has become an international signature tune for Ezekiel Kemboi in the athletics circles.

Mishra Arap Chelule is battling it out with incumbent Hon. James Bett, Allan Kosgei, Hon. Isaac Terer and Hon. David Koros.

Dr. Mishra is the founder of the Mediheal Group of Hospitals which has interests spreading as far as Rwanda.

His philanthropy is unmatched and has vowed to deliver engaged leadership.
