Has the church sold out?

Notice the three things the bible says people will love in the end times: self, money, and pleasure. Realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God..." (2 Timothy 3:1-4)

Need I emphasize that our world is wallowing in despair today? We live in a society plagued by terrorism, abortion, homosexuality, domestic violence, child molestation, blasphemy, pornography, alcoholism, drug abuse and gambling.

The core mandate of the church and Men of God is to win souls for heaven, for Christ….ask yourself…when was the last time you went to church and heard the word heaven and hell?…when was the last time you went to church and felt closer to Christ and not that dream job, car or money? I guess it’s been awhile, the church is obsessed with material satisfaction at the expense of spiritual nourishment. In a nutshell the church as it is has sold out to the devil.

When Noah and Lot warned their respective people of God's coming judgment and destruction, the people would not listen. Instead they treated Noah and Lot as "extremists". Then the destruction that did come found the people unprepared. Thus it will be when Jesus Christ returns. As in the days of Noah and Lot, the soon return of our Lord Jesus will be a snare unto the people who do not heed the warning and surrender their lives to Him who knows all. (Luke 17:26-30)
