Youths left out in State appointments

The recent appointments of heads of parastatals is clearly not in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta's continuous call for youth and women empowerment as well as national unity.

There is great discrepancy in what the Executive says and what it does. All the names given by President Kenyatta are the rich, old political bigwigs who have either been in politics before or head other public institutions.

There are many young qualified personnel who can do a great job in steering these parastatals ahead. The Executive shouldn't always run for the same old names every time job opportunities appear. The huge number of unemployed youths will continue rising if we keep up with such moves. Youths need these jobs and this is utterly impossible if we keep bringing back the retired to public office.
