Let's not burden our children with graft

Reports from the Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (Ipak) should prompt the Government to declare corruption a national disaster.

Kenya cannot claim it is developing when it is scoring as low as 25 per cent, and is at position 139 out of 168 ranked countries on corruption. The most affected include the Ministry of Devolution, Youth Enterprise Fund, State corporations and the county governments.

Corruption has become an epidemic that is not only suppressing our economy but also burdening low-earning tax payers.

The President should take charge in the war against corruption right from the grassroots. This will actually lead to a new Kenya that will at least accommodate everyone. We really have to do a lot so as to save the future generation from suffering the consequences of current graft.
