Extend the term of Dr John Kibosia at MTRH

The move by the Government to advertise the position of CEO for Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret to replace Dr John Kibosia is unfair.

Despite the challenges the facility is facing, Kibosia has worked hard to ensure operations are improved.

But plans to remove him are a clear indication that the Jubilee Government policy is to have politically correct officers and has no regard for exemplary service.

The Government should stop playing tribal politics and give hardworking officers the opportunity to serve Kenyans.

It is obvious that workers at the facility have faith in Kibosia and the Government should extend his term instead of looking for a replacement. The facility in the past experienced shortage of funds, but Kibosia worked hard to get donors to help initiate some projects.

The establishment of collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Minneapolis in liaison with Uasin Gishu county government has greatly helped improve services at the hospital.

Nevertheless, it seems the Government is only interested in officers from certain tribes.

If the Government is serious in developing public institutions, it should extend the term of Kibosia to enable him implement his development initiatives at MTRH.
