Residents blame corruption and impartiality for poor road network

Irked residents of Mataara, Mariaini, Gatunguru, Gituamba, Kairi and Gatukuyu have today expressed lack of confidence in the infrastructural developments carried out by Kiambu government citing discrimination to some areas.

The residents who were reacting to the county government's announcement of building Gatitu-Thika road decried bias in development of certain areas in the county.

'This government of Kabogo is dicsriminative and we cannot condone that here in Mataara, we are ready to voice our grievances. Our road has been left behind for more than 20 years now yet it is always used by politicians during campaigns,' said Anthony Mumu an agitated resident of Mataara.

The bad roads have been known to inconvenience tea transportation in the area thus impacting their econic lives.

'Our lorries get stuck every now and then due to these impassable and neglected roads, we plead with Kabogo to shun discrimination and at least murrum Mataara-Thika road for the benefit of everyone,' said Ann Wagio a resident of Gituamba.
