As Nairobi Polo Club hosts Davies Cup this weekend, all eyes will be on Kenyan internationals Jadini Nzomo and Izzy Voorspuy who hope to carry last year’s form into the new season.

This will be the opening tournament of the 2023 Kenya Polo Association season and will be followed with the next three other events to be hosted at the same venue before a proper campaign hits-off in May.

Focus will be on the duo who were in a class of their own with formidable performances in a number of international matches last season especially when they hosted Brazil in a 10-goal international championships at Nairobi Polo Club in September 2022.

And it will another chance for them to prove the same at the same venue (Nairobi Polo Club) in the next four weeks before riders and their ponies take a four months’ break.

The next tournament is the Maria Bencivenga on January 14-15 followed by the Soldier’s Salute on January 21-22 before the Chairman’s Cup on January 28-29.

Jadini and Voorspuy who emerged as Kenyan top players in their defeat to Brazil are expected to carry on with the same form.

The three Kenyan teams that featured in the tournament were Kenya Duma, Kenya Chui and Kenya Tusker Malt. [Ben Ahenda]
