Jackline Mwende: My business collapsed last year, now I'm back to begging

A beautiful church wedding and blessings by parents from both families gave Jackline Mwende, then 28, an assurance of a happy and blessed life ever after. That was on December 4, 2012, when she said “I do” to the love of her life, Stephen Ngila.

The two lovebirds settled down immediately and started living together in their new home on the outskirts of Masii town in Mwala Sub-county, Machakos County, where they jointly opened a tailoring business. It was a marriage filled with love and affection. Everything seemed to work well until a major challenge in their marriage cropped up.
