Residents warned against self-seeking politicians

Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has warned those eyeing the county gubernatorial seat in the 2017 elections to sell their agenda to electorate instead of spreading falsehoods about his administration.

“Those you see spreading lies and disrespecting us are only interested in becoming governors and not fighting for the welfare of our people,” said Mr Oparanya.

Speaking during a burial service in Butali village in Malava over the weekend, Oparanya explained that governorship needs someone with managerial skills and urged residents to shun politicians chasing power for the sake of it.

“Governorship is not about propaganda and self-seeking politics.

“It’s about financial management and planning,” said Oparanya in what seemed to be an attack on Senator Boni Khalwale, who has accused the executive of misusing funds.
