Music producer charged with obtaining money from a gospel artist

A music producer was Tuesday charged at Milimani Law Courts with obtaining money from a gospel artist against the law.

Peter Mwanyalo alias Peter Blessings was charged that on July 4, 2019 and January 5, 2020 at EMB records studios in Nairobi, obtained Sh2 million from producer Kevin Kioko alias Bahati by pretending that he was able to produce music videos with the said EMB.

He pleaded not guilty before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

The accused person allegedly joined EMB entertainment in July 2017 and was given Sh2,039,000 on the diverse dates in order to continue producing music with the said company.

It is said that when his time to deliver came, he allegedly disappeared with the cash spent on him.

Mutuku at the same time lifted a warrant of arrest against him that had been issued earlier.

Mwanyalo who is also known as Peter Blessing is said to have obtained Sh2,039,000 from Kevin Kioko alias Bahati at EMB records studios in Nairobi.

Mwanyalo is said to have pretended that he was in a position to produce music videos with the studios.

The court released the accused person on Sh500,000 bond and Sh200,000 cash bail.
