The mere mention of the name Siaya evokes memories of music icons within the lakeside region.

No wonder the late Rumba cum Benga maestro the late Musa Juma Mumbo bandleader cum founder of Limpopo International sang in honour of the place in his popular track Siaya Kababa  that launched his career besides catapulting him to fame as one of the most sort after artistes locally and abroad.

Sadly, despite Siaya’s popularity in all aspects in particular music- no one has ever come up with the idea of making an event in its honour.

And for the first time a special event in celebrating the success of Siaya county will take place this Saturday September 29 at Deep West Club and Resort- Nairobi West Kogo Plaza.
