Petr Cech's attempt to strike at the end of Everton v Arsenal stuns the world

Arsenal slipped to only a second Premier League defeat of the season at Goodison Park on Tuesday night, but they went down fighting.

After taking the lead through an Alexis Sanchez goal, the Gunners succumbed to strikes from Everton's Seamus Coleman and Ashley Williams as they missed a chance to go top of the table.

But in the closing stages they threw everything they had at the Blues, and that included sending Petr Cech up to attack corners and free-kicks.

Except, well, the veteran keeper didn't seem to know what to do.

At times it looked as though the Czech was partnering Maarten Stekelenburg in the Everton goal, even running behind the Dutchman and looking as though he was in goal for Everton.

And do you know what? People noticed.

In fairness to the ex-Chelsea keeper, he doesn't often play for teams that need a goal in the last minute to save a game.

And after his miscued header attempt he rose quickly and ran around his opposite number, presumably, to make sure he wasn't caught offside.

But still, he might think twice before doing this again.
