Harambee Stars striker Olunga to miss action as J-League is postponed due to Coronavirus

Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga is set to miss football action for two weeks as Japan’s J-League was postponed on Tuesday due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) fears.

“The J League will make maximum efforts to prevent infection and prevent its spread,” the league said in a statement.

The death toll of the coronavirus is 2765, with more than 80,000 people infected.

Japan has recorded four deaths so far, with 850 cases of infection.

Olunga was set to play against Shonan Bellmare on Wednesday but the match was postponed.

‘The Engineer’, who plays for Kashiwa Reysol, had scored a brace in a season opener against Consadole Sapporo last Saturday. The mouth-watering clash ended 4-2.

The Italian Serie A also had to postpone some of its matches scheduled for the past weekend after the deaths of two people infected with the coronavirus.

On orders from the Italian government, the Serie A games between Inter Milan and Sampdoria, Atalanta and Sassuolo as well as Hellas Verona and Cagliari were called off.
