Fifteen clubs attended the meeting with the quartet of Vihiga Bullets, Vihiga United, Talanta and St. Joseph sending their apologies. The new office will serve for one year.

Speaking after the elections, Korir said the main work of the new office will be improve the standards of the second tier league and attract more sponsorship.

“We had a fruitful consultative meeting for NSL clubs, the main agenda being elections for the new office bearers. We have also had discussions on how to improve our league, and make it better to attract even more partnerships,” said Korir.

And to ensure they get more funding in the league, the members formed a marketing committee that will be chaired by Ushuru’s CEO Stephen Mathenge. The league is currently being sponsored by betting firm Betika.

“I must thank the Federation for finding us the partner. We have had discussions on how we can find even more partnerships because the quality in our product is there for all to see,” said NSL Governing Council Assistant Secretary Daniel Magara.
