Arsenal star ruled until mid-November with knee injury

Arsenal are worried that Ainsley Maitland-Niles won’t return until mid-November.

The 20-year-old suffered a “small fracture to his left fibula” during their Premier League opener against Manchester City.

The young midfielder-cum-leftback suffered the injury during an innocuous coming together with Kyle Walker and the Gunners had stated that he would be out for somewhere between six to eight weeks.

But the club now don’t expect the former Ipswich loanee to return to training until November.

As such the England Under-21 international could spend as much as 12 weeks on the sidelines instead.

Club captain Laurent Koscielny has returned to London Colney however, as he continues his rehab after Achilles tendon surgery, having torn his Achilles during last season’s Europa League semi-final loss to Atletico Madrid.

The French defender is continuing his rehab and is aiming to return to action in November, as is Carl Jenkinson, absent with an ankle problem.

Sead Kolasinac is still hoping to be back in action in October.

The Bosnian international is currently suffering from a knee injury.
