Newly appointed Kenya Sevens captain Oscar Ayodi is determined to lead the national sevens rugby team to success this season.

The Homeboyz centre will wear the armband for the first time starting with this weekend’s (December 1-2) opening leg of the 2017-2018 HSBC Sevens World Series in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Ayodi, who will be assisted by Nakuru flanker Oscar Ouma, takes the captaincy from injured Kenya Commercial Bank flanker Andrew Amonde.

“Getting the armband is a great privilege and challenge at the same time. But I will take in my stride; I know the boys will rally behind me and I will do my best to be a good servant to them,” Ayodi told The Standard Sports. [Rodgers Eshitemi]
