Philip Gathi made good use of his home club as he defeated a team of 130 golfers to be crowned winner of the 2017 Governor’s Shield golf tournament at the par 73 Nakuru golf course at the weekend.

Playing off handicap 20, Gathi posted an excellent total of 42 points in the one-day 18-hole Governor Kinuthia Mbugua Golf Championships at Nakuru Golf Club.
