Captain Daisy Wairimu has been ruled out of the national women cricket team for over eight months following a road accident two weeks ago in Gilgil, Nakuru County.

Rift Valley Regional coach Peter Ong’ondo said doctors have ruled her out of action to allow for a fully recovery.

“The doctors have ruled her out of serious national team assignments for the next eight months, but we are ready to offer her our support so that she could resume her normal coaching duties soon,” Ong’ondo said.

The Stray Impala player was involved in horror road accident when heading to Nakuru from Nairobi after a match at Impala Club when their 10-Seater-Matatu collided head on with a trailer last month.
