Defending champions Kabras Sugar are through to the semifinals of the Enterprise Cup after knocking out Nondescripts 34-17 in a quarterfinal match played at Kakamega Showground on Saturday.

Fresh from winning the Kenya Cup two weeks ago, Kabras picked from where they left as they scored five tries in the win as Nondies, who were relegated to the KRU Championship, managed only one try.

Fijian born Kenyan international fly-half Jone Kubu gave Kabras Sugar an early 3-0 after splitting the posts with a penalty before inform eighth-man Jeanson Musoga bagged the first try of the match and Kubu added the extras for a 10-0 lead.

Nondies trimmed the gap with a three-pointer by Calvin Sheunda before South African import Rosco Syster went over for his first try at Kabras that was not converted as he pushed the scores to 15-3.

Nondies retuned again to land a converted try for a 15-8 score line before Sheunda would add a penalty before the halftime break as the Red Lions trailed 15-11.

In the final half, winger Bede Enonda also opened his account for Kabras but the conversion attempt went wide as the sugar men stretched the scores to 20-11.

Valerian Tendwa joined the scoresheet with a try that was converted by Kubu to change the scores to 27-11.

Substitute Ntabeni Dukisa also came on to land a try that was converted by Syster for 34-11.

Sheunda bagged two more penalties for Nondies who went out of the competition after losing 34-17.
